Villa Angiolina

The first and only one situated at the most beautiful part of Opatija. This villa’s beauty adorns numerous postcards and brochures. In the year 1844, Rijeka’s patrician Iginio Scarpa placed an order to edify a villa which he named after his late wife Angiolina. It was a proof of his love and marital fidelity. Today, Villa Angiolina is the most beautiful Opatija’s symbol. It is considered a construction of this villa to be just as an inception of tourist industry in Opatija. Its owner were hosting numerous prominent figures of his time, among which Austrian Empress Maria Anna, Emperor Franz Joseph, dancer Isadora Duncan and many others.

The villa as well as the beautifully designed park in front of it, are a perfect site not just for a wedding ceremony but also for a nice cocktail wedding. It is an ideal place to welcome and gather guests prior to the ceremony in the church or a gala dinner, thanks to the proximity of St. Jakob church and a number of hotels and restaurants.

Let the Villa Angiolina be a testimony of your love – say “I do” in this genuine symbol of Opatija.
